Anderson has admitted he is frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities but does not want to leave Manchester United.

The Brazilian midfielder’s only start came in last week’s defeat by Burnley while he is reported to have clashed with boss Sir Alex Ferguson after being left out of the team for the Community Shield meeting with Chelsea earlier this month.

Anderson told the Daily Mail: “I believed that I would play in the Community Shield but that is forgotten now.

“I thought that, without Cristiano Ronaldo around, I could to play more and that has been my challenge from pre-season onwards.

“But the coach decides the teams and to discuss this with him is foolish because he is the chief. I do not want to leave United. No.

“Sir Alex Ferguson has demanded a bigger effort from me and I accept that. Because to get into this United team is very complicated and difficult for any player.”

MANCHESTER UNITED will launch a deadline-busting bid to sign Arjen Robben from Real Madrid. United have been quoted £26million but the Red Devils plan to force the price down this weekend.

Old Trafford chiefs will begin the process with a bid of around £11m – but an offer of £15m may be enough to bag the winger.

Robben, 26, is seen as the creative spark which can help fill the void left by £80m Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Dutchman has been in sparkling form for Real in pre-season.

But he is unlikely to get a look-in at the Bernabeu.

Robben came close to signing for Alex Ferguson’s men from PSV Eindhoven in 2004 when he visited United’s training ground.

But he opted for a £12m move to Chelsea.

The Blues doubled their money by flogging him to Madrid in 2007.

NEMANJA VIDIC vowed he will prove his commitment to Manchester United with his performances in the coming weeks.

The Serbian’s advisor Paolo Fabbri was quoted last week as saying the centre-back would welcome a switch to Barcelona.

It set alarm bells ringing at Old Trafford as Vidic has become one of Europe’s top defenders since joining three years ago. Vidic’s wife was also reported as being unhappy in Manchester.

But Vidic insists he is focused only on United’s title defence – and Fabbri denied making the comments.

Vidic, 27, said: “I’ve never said anything about Barcelona, or Real Madrid or AC Milan – or any club.

”I never speak about my future so I don’t know why someone else does. I showed at Wigan on the pitch how happy I am at this club.

”Any fan of United only has to see how I played to know how committed I am.”

The 5-0 win at Wigan on Saturday was Vidic’s first game back after an ankle injury.

He spoke to Fabbri about the story to voice his concern at the timing of it, after United lost Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez.

Vidic added: “I don’t want it to have an impact. I’m here and committed. I’ll show that with how I play.

”It’s not true that my wife is not happy. I don’t know how that rumour came out, she’s not what you’d call a famous wife. She’s never spoken to a newspaper.”

Frank Lampard reckons Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit has already given Chelsea the edge over Manchester United.
The Red Devils sold Ronaldo to Real Madrid for £80million this summer. And the Premier League champions suffered an early title blow on Wednesday after losing 1-0 at Burnley.
Lamps insists nobody should be surprised to see United come back to the pack after three straight league triumphs. “It is very difficult to replace Ronaldo. I heard Alex Ferguson say that himself and I don’t think he will look to replace him.
“He will look to make the team strong as a whole by not having him. That is the only thing they can do. The amount of times I flicked on the telly and saw Ronaldo had scored and they had won one or two-nil.
“The Burnley game wasn’t completely unexpected. I thought it might be a difficult game for them. We have now got a little bit of a lead over them and Liverpool. It is nice to get your noses in front.”
The SunLampard isn’t the only one talking about Ronaldo’s exit. There’s a piece in The Guardian that says of Wedensday’s trip to Burnley: “The defeat smacked of a side that is awkwardly negotiating the process of reinventing itself now Cristiano Ronaldo is just a bittersweet memory. The players who have been assigned the task of filling that void, most notably Michael Owen, played in a manner that made you want to watch through your fingers.”

Meanwile, in The Times, Oliver Kay dips into the transfer debate. “There have been some rumours in recent weeks that United haven’t completely given up on the idea of signing David Silva from Valencia. There are certainly indications that they might try to sign him and they are also looking for cover in central defence.”

And the Spanish club fear a backlash from their fans if they sell Aguero, 21, so close to the start of the season.

Missing out on anothermajor summer target would be a huge blow for Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti.

He was pipped by Real Madrid in the race to sign Kaka. And the Blues’ bid to land Bayern Munich ace Franck Ribery has also hit the buffers.
