Gerrard signs up for £26m deal!

STEVEN GERRARD put a smile on Rafa Benitez’s face last night by signing his contract extension.
The Liverpool skipper agreed two years on top of his current deal – which ran for another two seasons – back in April.
Now he has finally made it official by inking a contract until 2013, worth around £26million in total.
Gerrard has insisted this will likely be his last deal and is seriously considering quitting after it ends when he will be 33.
Reds boss Benitez has already secured Dirk Kuyt, Fernando Torres, Yossi Benayoun and Daniel Agger on long-term deals this summer.
But Benitez is battling to keep midfield stars Javier Mascherano and Xabi Alonso out of the clutches of Barcelona and Real Madrid. The Sun
